Apple Music

I’ve been listening to a lot of music via Apple’s new Apple Music Service. We’re still in the 3 month beta period, but I already know I’m going to be paying for it. A large reason for that is St Vincent’s Mixtape Delivery Service.

I’d never heard of St Vincent before she appeared on Apple Music’s Beats One, but her weekly show in which she puts together a mix of songs for one person who’s written in to her is simply brilliant and reminds me very much of people slightly older than I talking about DJs in the 60s and 70s before radio became a cesspool of pre-programmed music.

Apple has started to post full replays of some shows, including St Vincent’s, instead of just playlists of the songs. This is great news, because hearing the interplay between St Vincent and her subject is nearly as interesting as the list of songs she’s picked out.
